In The Human Rights Hagaddah Shlomo Levine explores the connections between human rights issues and the traditional Passover Hagaddah. I had the pleasure to accompany the project as the visual developer, Illustrator, and Designer.

Featuring the full Hagadda text in Hebrew and English, commentary, multiple types of sources, prompts for discussions, and visuals - it was important to develop a clear visual system to guide the reader through the Sader.

For Outline Festival 2019's exhibit "Side Passage" (Mavoi Tzdadi), a group of Jerusalem illustrators were asked to tell a personal story about a spot in the Jerusalem central town area.

I chose the Rimon Cafe, a family landmark since the 1980's, when my grandfather could be found sitting there and working in the mornings. He would enjoy breakfast, and work on his business - an English language map of Jerusalem.

The exhibit spans the whole central town area, with the illustrations and stories mounted in the place they occurred. You can also explore the exhibit's interactive map.

During my senior year at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, I illustrated “What Happened to the Crocodile?” by Ayin Hilel, as part of the studio course instructed by Rutu Modan and Ayal Zakin. In these illustrations I experimented with lines, colors, and shapes, testing the relationship between background and characters. I was drawn to the text's unique whimsical humor, and wanted to convey a similar feeling with the illustrations. 

"Rainbow from a Cloud" is a non-profit organization, dedicated to creating innovative, practical, and fun educational products for The International School of Peace for refugee children on the island of Lesbos.

These children are faced with many challenges. The challenge Michal of "Rainbow from a Cloud" approached me with is the following:

Lesbos is home to refugees from many different countries and cultures. The language barrier makes it even harder for children to play together and make new friends, and learning multiple languages at once is hard and confusing.

We wanted to make it a little easier while empowering the children and encouraging dialogue.

We developed two products - a card game and a dictionary.

The card game is based on the classic "Go Fish" premise - the players must collect sets of the same word in 4 languages. Each word is illustrated in a fun and memorable way.

The dictionary is a low cost, printable, and customizable way for each child to learn new words independently and in a group. The pages are designed to be held together in a binder, so the student can easily add new words as they learn.

For my senior project at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, I illustrated and designed a book of the children’s story “The Little Whale” by Oded Burla. Michal Bonano was my advising teacher for this project.
Illustrations are hand painted in acrylic, and edited digitally.

Illustrations for the 2017 Tel Aviv Illustration Week exhibit - Et Gur Nirdam. The illustrations are for the song "Et Gur Nirdam" by Miriam Yalan Stekelis. The song describes what goes on during the night - while the cub sleeps. These two spreads talk about the Guard and the Baker, two people working at night. 

The brief asked that we re-examine this classic text, in a contemporary context. In my interpretation I wish to explore how our society’s view on “night shifts” has changed from the song’s picturesque description of professionals dedicating their night hours to lovingly protect and serve those who sleep.
